Fiona trained as a Physiotherapist at St Thomas’ hospital qualifying in 1983. She worked for 2 years in South Africa where she developed an interest in trauma and orthopaedics. On her return she worked for 9 years at RNOH, Stanmore working closely with specialist spinal orthopaedic surgeons to rehabilitate complex surgical patients. Here she developed a particular interest in treating shoulders, which she has continued to pursue. In 1990 Fiona qualified to become a member of the Manipulative Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. She is also qualified as an Acupuncturist which she uses alongside conventional physiotherapy treatments. She is a qualified Pilates Instructor and has studied modified Pilates valuing the combined concept of core stability, controlled movement and stretching, which she uses in her treatments. Fiona has recently developed an interest in falls prevention as a result of working at Priory Grange.
Fiona’s main hobby is tennis, which she plays regularly and therefore has a deep interest in tennis related injuries.
