Susie worked in St Albans in sports development, as a swimming teacher and later got the chance to work as a generic therapy assistant in cardiac rehabilitation & neurology. She won a place as a mature physiotherapy student at Hertfordshire University, and has continued developing her skills training in Pilates & acupuncture. Her experience also includes working with acute orthopaedics & complex chronic conditions, un/explained falls, dementia or special needs, sensory or respiratory impairment, potential & advanced life-limiting conditions. She has worked closely with the trust services in assessing & treating people with rare & rapidly progressive neurological conditions.
“Any simple or challenging presentation which requires a thorough physio- detective investigation & flexible communication is welcome.
I am passionate about maximising optimum function & exploring how I can collaboratively facilitate towards best possible healthy outcomes for each person. I do this by providing hands-on physiotherapy or setting up tailored exercises to improve or maintain balance, strength, & flexibility at a variety of safe ‘work stations’.
Pain can be a huge challenge to many. Where appropriate, pain can be alleviated with guidance on using mindful breathing techniques & altering focus of attention, another area of on-going evidenced-based training.
It’s a privilege to assess, treat & work alongside people to reach their goals. I am very grateful to be part of the Physio2go team & give the best possible quality service I can.”
